Orphan Boy

watching the clouds turn to animals
in forests far away
in the other place
where you live
when there is no one to play with

and you run through the grass
and you sing
about someone they don't ever see
someone who calls you
by another name

time is passing
and you must come forward
and admit the things you have done
with the memories
of your childhood

hold tight to the rose
from the garden outside your castle
in the cloudy heavens
that sail quickly over head
then out of sight
